What to Look for in a Venue for a Linen Wedding
This gorgeous Pantone linen wedding was set to take place inside a grand church covered in shades of white from head to toe. There are many ways to decorate a venue for your wedding and completely transform it from boring to glamorous without having to put a dent in your pocket.
You can take your vows inside a church and choose to have the ceremony dinner in an outdoor garden space, afterward. When searching for a venue based on the linen wedding theme, choose a place that is the epitome of peace and beauty for you. This is why our bride chose a church and you can also; proceed to have the after-celebration in either your house garden or a farmhouse to match the soothing wedding theme.
Color Palette for a Linen Wedding
Color is one of the most important and the very first details that a couple thinks about when planning their wedding style and theme. Linen is a color that is easy on the eyes, uncomplicated, and celebrates the beauty of nature. It is the perfect blend of modern and modest and can complement a fresh twist of pale gold and copper metallic accents.
Warm neutrals can be incorporated with this color to enhance and further increase the palette's organic yet unconventional appeal. Or if you want to add some splashes of bloom then you can combine this soft and nurturing shade with a bold fuchsia pink or bright green. However, linen, even alone, can enhance the ambiance of your entire wedding!
Wedding Invitations for a Linen Wedding
Linen is an invitation favorite color as it provides the most elegant finish! Use a textured and slightly crosshatched surface paper that can create the wedding invitation card of your dreams. If you want to add a little bit more feel to your linen invites then go for soft embossing to create a thicker texture.
For this wedding, the bride has chosen white linen with a beautiful contrast of soft tan hues. Swirly, gilded calligraphy is printed on the wedding invites to give them a warm and effortlessly classic look. How beautiful!
Wedding Cake for a Linen Wedding
Figuring out the design of your wedding cake plays a significant role in your wedding planning. And even though most brides go extravagant for their wedding cake designs, what actually looks classy and tempting is a wedding cake covered in creamy and frothy white buttercream, adorned with self-color buttercream flowers. So mouthwatering!
Just like the cake in this wedding inspiration board, which is designed with edible floral patterns starting from the bottom and extending up to the very top tier of the cake. It is served in a simple white, glass platter that is beautifying the look even more. If you wish to add fresh flowers, you can put some on the top tier of the cake and drape the petals down the side.
Bouquets and Boutonnieres for a Linen Wedding
There is a wide variety of colors to choose from for your big-day bouquet but still, many brides go for an all-white bouquet for their wedding. The choice could be influenced by the long-living tradition but truth be told white bouquets complement any and every type of wedding dress and never draw the attention away from the bride.
A white wedding dress and a matching bouquet say all the right things – purity, sensuality, and love. Twinkling white roses infused with pale green branches and bunched together with a white linen ribbon create powerful and positive energy, as well as add magic to the beginning of a new chapter in the bride's life. For the groom, a single white daffodil or ivory rose can add all the charm!
Table Setting for a Linen Wedding
The tables and chairs at your wedding ceremony can go from drab to fab if you decide to use linens. Let's start with the most obvious linen of the bunch, tablecloths. Our lovely couple has made a statement by using tan-colored tablecloths and sheer white embroidered overlays that look so fabulous!
For a small round table, you don't want to be looking for exaggerated floral decorations and would want to stick to a single pink rose dipped in a small glass of water. If you are going for a big feast table, you can use wooden carts and fill them with white and green florals to be used as table decoration. Small floating candles are a perfect fit for the outdoor celebration. This couple has also used crochet table spreads and neatly organized silverware in a paper bag.
Favors and Gifts for a Linen Wedding
Favors and gifts are a must for the guests if you have arranged your wedding ceremony in the daytime. They can either be presented to the guests at the breakfast table or you can hand these small favors when the guests are bidding goodbyes. To match the linen theme of your wedding, you can opt for olive tree favors wrapped in cute, tiny burlap bags, or you can be more personal and go for a cute wedding favor box containing tan paper bags filled with coffee and chocolates.
If you want to enhance your wedding table decor, you can also place your favors in cute, little customized jute bags and place a white rose in each of the bags to match your Pantone linen wedding theme.
Wedding Dresses and Accessories for a Linen Wedding
To match the elegant and radiant theme of the wedding, our bride chose an off-white-colored dress to fully complement the arrangements. The upper part of the dress was made of sheer material and crusted with heavy silver stones and beads. She paired the full-length organza dress with long silver earrings and an off-white veil headband. What a queen!
If you don't like wearing headbands then you can opt for a pearl-crusted hairpin. For the heels, go for a comfortable-stylish pair of open-toed designs. To match the wedding decor, you can also wear a dress made out of net or linen.
Bridesmaid Dresses for a Linen Wedding
Bridesmaids' dresses are keeping up with the modern trend of having a long length and fresh features like tiered skirts and elegant cutouts. Choosing a dress for your bridesmaids can be a little tricky and time-consuming because you do not want to pick an outfit that is too showing or too stuffy. And simultaneously, you don't want them to appear dull.
So, keeping in mind the traditional taste and linen theme, our bride has chosen non-conventional yet sophisticated bridesmaids' dresses. It is a structured column gown made out of soft net fabric in an off-white color, with a cute black bow at the back and a fine finishing. And the pink and white bouquets in their hands are making them look all the more alluring!
Groom Style for a Linen Wedding
A great sense of style is not exclusive to brides. Figuring out what to wear for a wedding can be plenty of fun for the groom, as well. Following the dress code is a must but always remember that a tuxedo isn't necessary for every type of event. For the linen theme wedding, a white tie can prove to be the beacon of formality. Pair them with gilded cufflinks and other accessories to create a decent and sophisticated look.
It's all about the details so make sure that your wedding day attire is top-notch! You can also accessorize your suit with a linen handkerchief and a floral lapel pin. If you want to shift to the outdoors, like in this theme, you can get rid of the coat and stick to your plain white shirt and neutral tone pants.
Pantone color of the year: linen
Next up in our Pantone Color of the Year for 2013 prediction series is linen. Linen is easy on the eyes, warm, effortless, classic, and a perfect color to go with for any season of weddings. Compliment linen tones with nudes, whites, and ivories. For some texture, linen lends itself well to burlap and lace so with this lovely hue your wedding style can also range from classic understated elegance to a rustic vintage vibe.
I’m obviously quite a fan of this color – if you love it too check out the safari chic, queen Annes lace, and naturally neutral for some more ideas and don’t forget to pop over to 3D Memoirs today for another Pantone palette: Lemon Zest.
