Lavish Rustic Winter Wedding

What an absolutely stunning setting for this winter wedding shoot. The rustic room is truly brought to life with the reds we see in the flowers and berries. Peach, blue and pink make an appearance as well. Very pretty!

What to Look for in a Venue for a Lavish Rustic Winter Wedding

Elegant rustic has become a favorite wedding theme, but you must also consider the wedding venue before making any big decision. Besides the accommodations and cost, you also have to think about how well it will fit your vision and make your dream wedding come true.

When scouting for a venue for your lavish rustic winter wedding, choose an area or building that already has the structure and atmosphere you’re looking for. That way, you only need to add a few details in terms of decorations or flowers. Think of spaces like wineries, ranches, vineyards, barns, and similar outdoor wedding venues. Warehouses, lofts, and open fields also carry a similar rustic vibe. Despite the season, your wedding ceremony and reception can be an indoor or outdoor event.

Color Palettes for a Lavish Rustic Winter Wedding

The colors of nature go well with a lavish rustic winter theme. These include a blend of dark green, terracotta, burgundy, and other warm earth tones complemented by a rich gold palette, peach, and dark red. Earth tone palettes evoke images of sandy deserts and rocky landscapes. Mix them with greens, cloudy whites, and wood accents, and you’ll have a classy combination perfect for your lavish wedding celebration.

We especially love pops of burgundy and brilliant red against the soft, blue-green color of eucalyptus that are classy yet unintimidating. Incorporate them into various parts of your reception, including the tables, wedding bouquets, and decor for more depth and richness.

Details for a Lavish Rustic Winter Wedding

You want your winter wedding to warm your guests on this chilly day. One way to encapsulate the feelings of warmth and coziness is to add candles, vintage lamps, or twinkle lights to your decor and table setting. Add fruits and gold accents, which stand out in a chic, rustic setting.

Although you’re adding luxury to the equation, rustic winter wedding styles are mainly about creating a comfortable and simple atmosphere. Instead of having elaborate backdrops, your tablescape can be your primary decoration. It should be rustic and romantic with the addition of an elegant chandelier, vintage mirror, and wooden elements.

Table Setting Style for a Lavish Rustic Winter Wedding

There’s no way you won’t fall in love with the table setting style for a lavish rustic winter wedding theme. The color variations in the floral design for the centerpiece are undeniably breathtaking. The greenery, choice of flowers, and the addition of fruit are a smart mix. Plus, the golden flower vases in various shapes and sizes give the tablescape a luxurious appeal.

Besides the mix of colorful blooms and foliage, an eye-catching rustic centerpiece features white taper candles, wine glasses, and small white votives. Every element adds texture and character to the room and pops up against an unfinished wooden wedding table.

Bouquets & Boutonnieres for a Lavish Rustic Winter Wedding

Large blooms and oversized wedding bouquets are ideal for lavish rustic weddings. Dark red roses, peach peonies, and carnations are typical wedding flowers you can highlight in your arrangement. But don’t be afraid to experiment with other plants and buds.

When choosing boutonnieres for the groom and groomsmen, you want the style to match their outfit and the theme. Pick a color that goes well with your tie. Since the flowers shouldn’t be as varied as the bridal bouquet, you may also choose a flower that’s meaningful for you and your partner. Add a bit of greenery to the mix, and you’re good to go.

Groom Style for a Lavish Rustic Winter Wedding

There is no limit to where you can take your lavish rustic winter wedding ensemble for grooms. If you’ve chosen a pastoral setting, go for a formal outwear to create a sense of balance fitting for the elegant rustic vibe. Wear a black pair of pants and a suit or tuxedo for luxurious attire. Then put on a bow tie with a color that matches your boutonniere.

If you want to dress for the winter season, trade your suit jacket for a lovely cardigan or nice sweater. But if you’re feeling extra bold and fashionable, try experimenting with scarves, wool jackets, or sweater vests.

Wedding Invitations for a Lavish Rustic Winter Wedding

When people think of lavish rustic winter weddings, farmhouses, barns, wooden elements, sparkling glitz, and fresh pines are what often come to mind. But for wedding invitations, you can stick to the typical style or go beyond the ordinary. While there’s nothing wrong with both, the key to making a lasting impression is to consider unique designs your guests haven’t seen before.

Therefore, don’t hesitate to customize every detail of your wedding invitation suite. Pick everything, from paper and calligraphy to the envelope and overall design. You may find inspiration from your venue, add your favorite quote, or work with paint and watercolor. The sky is the limit to what you can do for your big day.

Wedding Cake Ideas for a Lavish Rustic Winter Wedding

The wedding cake is the centerpiece of your party, so don’t settle for less when choosing a style and flavor for your reception dessert. A single-tier cake is unassuming and remains a favorite among many couples. But since being lavish and classy is part of the concept, go bigger with a three-tier wedding cake.

The flavor is up to you and your partner, but pick a snowy white wedding cake to capture the winter wedding idea. Less is more for this dessert, so ditch any elaborate design elements on each tier. Instead, use your arrangement of vibrant flowers, berries, and cherries as a topper.

Portrait Props for a Lavish Rustic Winter Wedding

You can slash your wedding budget with a rustic wedding theme since you can always use the elements in your venue or surroundings as your props to take stunning photos. Collaborate closely with your photographer and look for an area that works as a natural backdrop. Woods, leaves, the glorious sunset, or even an old fence can be used as a rustic photo prop.

Hang a beautiful wreath from the back of the chair, or add some foliage for a wonderfully organic look. Take a picture sitting on it while holding a bouquet, or have the couple sit side by side while smiling brightly in front of the camera. Guests may also enjoy posing with old mirrors, wooden tools, or washboards.

Food for a Lavish Rustic Winter Wedding

While summer and fall are the most common seasons to get hitched, winter weddings are becoming more popular than ever. Besides the dreamy winter decorations, it’s the best time to bring out those tasty delights that will warm your guests.

In addition to the typical wedding food, add one or two hot food and beverage stations to the reception venue. Roasted potatoes and vegetables are hearty options, but soups and meats remain excellent staples for a sit-down wedding meal. Of course, you shouldn’t forget your hot cocoa, a crowd-pleasing addition to the menu that won’t hurt your food budget. It could be a replacement or a sweet add-on to the coffee service.

From Danielle at Oh! Such Style Events – “I saw this shoot as an opportunity to step away from more traditional rustic looks like mason jars and aspired to highlight the romantic side of rustic. We created a look focused on texture complemented by a rich palette of gold, dark red, green, and peach. We lightened up the space using cream linens, candles and place settings. By using Kraft paper for our stationary it allowed us to connect the natural ambiance of the venue.

The variation in colour in the floral design and grains was seamless and it helped to connect everything together. The telescope was a romantic and rustic with the addition of fruit. Our main challenge with the table was to make sure that it didn’t look like something out of a Christmas catalogue and I am ecstatic with how well all of the elements turned out.”
