Pocahontas Inspired Wedding

The bouquet in this spectacular wedding photo shoot has elements of nature inspired by this Disney princess theme. We adore the table setting with pretty turquoise chairs and, of course, the lovely white horse in the background!

Details for a Pocahontas Inspired Wedding

Most girls have spent their entire childhood dreaming to become Disney princesses. Imagine your dream coming true on the day of your wedding. Sounds exciting, right? This Pocahontas inspired wedding is part of our Disney Wedding Series and also very close to our hearts.

This gorgeous and fancy wedding was a whole package, containing all the Disney details that we used to see in those princess movies. From the venue (in the wilderness) to the smallest wedding arrangement, each thing exuded grace and natural beauty. Everything about this unique Pocahontas inspired wedding ceremony is extremely striking.

Ceremony Decor for a Pocahontas Inspired Wedding

To carry out this Pocahontas inspired wedding photo shoot, an intimate wedding ceremony was arranged with all details rustic! With a natural background setting, this wedding inspiration shoot turned out to be absolute perfection. Make your wedding an outdoor party like this one, with decor fitting for a princess.

When you are arranging a wedding in the wild, the ceremony decor options are none other than to use natural things like flowers, wooden tables, chairs, signboards, and more. This is because you don't want to overshadow the natural environment. This sweet couple made use of rich-looking and exotic wildflowers to decorate their ceremony location, along with some rustic woodenware. This minimal and natural style went well with the Pocahontas theme.

Outdoor Wedding Ideas for a Pocahontas Inspired Wedding

Some Disney princesses spend a good chunk of their life in nature, and especially the lovely Pocahantas. So, what better than choosing an outdoor location that is packed with tall trees and natural grass? In this inspirational photo shoot, a pretty lake flowing on the side is an added bonus that had everyone in love.

If you are planning to have a Disney inspired wedding, choose an outdoor location just like this; one that has beautiful mountains, a couple of pretty horses, a small bridge leading to the lake, and some big sea rocks. So dreamy!

If you want to have an outdoor ceremony but also keep your guests from melting in the scorching heat, you can look for a greenhouse. This will not only add to this scenic view but also make the environment cool and refreshing.

Wedding Invitations for a Pocahontas Inspired Wedding

Since we are all about natural details and dreamy Pocahantas inspired ideas, we should surprise our guests with a wedding invite that makes them smile.

This bride did just that by customizing her wedding card in neutral shades of white and sage blue with zigzag lines pattern printed on it. Inside the cute white envelope, were two cards; RSVP and an invite with all important wedding details on it.
What's catchy about this wedding invite is its design. A pretty dream catcher is printed on this invite to match the theme of this Disney inspired wedding. In addition, a gorgeous brass string with an autumn leaf is tied around it.

It's all in the small details. For example, to bring in a rustic effect, the inner of the white envelope has a tan brown paper with a white zigzag pattern pasted on it.

Color Palette for a Pocahontas Inspired Wedding

For a Pocahantas inspired wedding, it is better to choose neutral tones, especially if you are planning to have an outdoor wedding. It's not a rule but such themes go very well with the natural setting.

For their Pocahontas themed wedding, this couple chose tones of white, brown, green, grey, and multiple shades of blue with a few gold hues here and there. You can see these colors nicely incorporated into the decor, setting, and wedding location creating a well-matched theme. However, to lift up the mood and add some Disney funkiness, a few bright and deep pops of color were added which look absolutely splendid!

Table Setting Style for a Pocahontas Inspired Wedding

You can serve the most delicious food items but if they don't look presentable enough or are not served on a gorgeous table, the look doesn’t have the same effect. Whenever you sit down to plan your wedding, make sure to brainstorm some table-setting ideas, as well. Why? Because they can leave a lasting impression on your guests.

For this outdoor wedding ceremony, from the jute tan table spread to the blue-painted chairs, everything was spot on. Plain white dinnerware, silver utensils, and champagne glasses were placed neatly above the white crochet table runner. To create a magical evening effect, an array of natural floral arrangements was lined in the center of the table. Containing a spread of burgundy roses laid above a bed of green foliage, and topped with ornamental grass, this table setting was phenomenal!

Wedding Dresses & Accessories for a Pocahontas Inspired Wedding

In this Pocahontas inspired wedding, the bride looks like a real-life Disney princess, donning a gorgeous white bridal dress. The intricate pattern of folds in this figure-hugging dress looks so chic and stunning. And to complement the sweetheart neckline, she has paired it with a teal princess necklace and an organza handcrafted hat.

White wedding dresses are exquisite, really, and you can pair them with any color without having to worry about going out of style or the theme of your wedding. The bride wanted to look trendy so she went for a pair of tan brown loafers instead of the traditional white heels. And we loved how super comfortable she was in them, throughout, and enjoyed her big day to the maximum.

Bouquets and Boutonnieres for a Pocahontas Inspired Wedding

Just because you have selected a white wedding dress does not at all mean that you also have to necessarily carry a completely white flower bouquet. The flower arrangement that you choose for your wedding as well as your bridal bouquet depends on the theme and setting of your wedding.

If you are having an outdoor wedding like this one and have also kept every other thing neutral and balanced, you can always opt for an assortment of bright-colored flowers, just like this bride! She carried a magnificent arrangement of burgundy peonies and bright yellow sunflowers with some green foliage.
For the boutonniere, ornamental grass was combined with tiny yellow flower buds and a sage ribbon to tie it up.

Wedding Photography Ideas for a Pocahontas Inspired Wedding

We all are well aware of how awesome daylight pictures turn out. And with this exotic location to add to their charm, they become swoon-worthy. Honestly, it's all about the right angles and lighting for the photographer to take epic wedding photographs.

This couple had an aesthetically beautiful wedding photo shoot, capturing the beauty of the moments as well as the venue. The pictures by the lake as well as on the bridge are especially very captivating. And, the photographs in the boat where the sun reflects beautifully on the water surface and the couple sails away are our absolute favorite!

Food for a Pocahontas Inspired Wedding

Deciding on food for an outdoor wedding can prove to be quite a task as you have to maintain the balance between seasonal meals and exotic delicacies. And when it comes to food, it can be really hard to please your guests. So, you must serve food that not only tastes good but also looks super appetizing.

For this, you can set up small food stations and cocktail bars. A whimsical and sweet arrangement of chocolate mousse, ice creams, dessert jars, bite-sized pumpkin pies, and popsicles is sure to steal the show! You can keep it fresh and light by adding grazing tables and a separate salad station. For the main entrée, include pasta, finger food like fried chicken or fish, and some spaghetti with meatballs.

Disney wedding series: part 1

DISNEY, INSPIRATION SHOOT

A while back, like in the first baby months of this blog, I created a series of inspiration boards based on all of the Disney princesses and so when Sarah Kathleen shared these inspiration shoots that she did in conjunction with Ever After Artistry (two today and two tomorrow – aren’t we lucky!) I fell in love. They’re gorgeous and they totally bring to life all the imaginative and fun details of a Disney styled wedding. I’m so excited to bring you this series! Today we’ve got Pocahontas and Snow White. Two different babes, two totally different styles, but a whole lot of amazing inspiration!

For this Pocahontas styled shoot the rustic setting is absolute perfection. Horses, towering mountains, a romantic lake – it’s dreamy! The textural details on the centerpiece are stunning and I love all of the earthy elements and natural hues. This Pocahontas shoot would be perfect for a fall wedding in the countryside! The bride’s bold red lips and stunning statement necklace add pops of color and draw all the attention right to her.

Next up we have a stunning Snow White wedding inspiration shoot! I’ve always been a fan of Snow White, even more so after seeing this hilarious blogging joke involving the dwarfs. But what I love most about this shoot is its alternative style. Disney princess weddings don’t have to be puffy and pink and this is proof. Like the one above, this shoot also takes advantage of a gorgeous outdoor environment but it kicks it up a notch with bright reds, yellows, and purples. The black touches give it all an edgy look that I just can’t get enough of!
