Vineyard Wedding
Colourful bouquets, dresses and backdrops make this wedding stand out. We love the peach, orange, teal and more highlighted in so many ways. A wedding venue on a river is beautiful, and the fact that it’s a vineyard inspirational shoot is sure to provide many ideas!
What to Look for in a Venue for a Vineyard Wedding
Vineyards are some of the most romantic places to host a wedding. When searching for a wedding venue, you must consider the regulations like noise restrictions, a bar list, and available space. Many vineyards offer separated areas for wedding functions and parties, and guests are usually asked not to wander the property.
When booking a wedding venue like a modern vineyard, it is best to ensure there is adequate accommodation, plenty of space for guests to roam about, and you have the liberty to rearrange the décor at will. You also need to remember that some wineries may restrict your bar options only to their in-house wines.
Colour Palettes for a Vineyard Wedding
Draw wedding colour inspiration from colours already present at the wedding venue. Vineyards are filled with natural hues that go excellently when paired with each other. Deep reds, mauves, and burgundy are usually predominant in wineries. However, if you and your partner want the wedding colours to be bold, you could also choose a warm citrus colour palette for a colourful modern vineyard wedding.
Offsetting warm, bold colours with shades of white, buttercup yellow, coral, and seafoam will also make your big day a celebration of your love. Wedding colours that complement each other are also pastel shades like blush pink, warm rose, pale lilac, and light green.
Details for a Vineyard Wedding
Modern vineyards have plenty of natural sunlight, fields, and open space to have a fantastic wedding. When finalising the venue and décor, it is necessary to have an approximation of the guest list. Since you could be organising wine tasting tours, wine bottles as wedding favours, or bespoke, handcrafted table décor items, it is essential that there is clarity on the wedding budget, gifting options, and ages of guests.
When considering a modern vineyard wedding, you should inquire about the availability and access limits to utilities like water and unlimited power. You may also have to consider the terrain since many vineyards have slightly sloping hills for water drainage. These could prove problematic for older guests, and you may have to make arrangements for their movement.
Food for a Vineyard Wedding
The wedding food for a modern vineyard wedding should always compliment the selection of wines. Having a cheese board, plenty of fresh fruits, and maybe a fondue station will nicely bring the wines and food together. Other foods to consider are poultry with white wines and red meat for wed wines. These flavour profiles work excellently when paired together.
Some dishes to consider are steak tartare, ground turkey meatballs in a delicate sauce, buttermilk fried chicken, salmon bites with a pepper dip, and a wide range of vegetarian and vegan options for guests with allergies or dietary restrictions. Having a few salads on hand will also help tie the menu together.
Table Setting Style for a Vineyard Wedding
Wineries are usually blessed with deep colours. A rust or pumpkin-coloured tablecloth or runner with navy or burgundy serviettes tied with a buttercup yellow ribbon will look extremely elegant. Wine glasses, champagne flutes, and smaller water glasses in intricate designs, deep mauve, burgundy, and red flowers with some gorgeous green for the centrepieces on each table will also make the setting pop.
To add a glam factor, you could also place name cards in a cursive font on a card-style pattern with your wedding logo or colours, keep the wooden chairs bare, and add some grapes and charcuterie to each table for guests to nibble on while they mingle.
Wedding Dresses and Accessories for a Vineyard Wedding
The wedding dress should be in white for a vineyard wedding, simply because there are so many dark colours already present that a white gown will stand out and be the centre of attention. However, many brides prefer lighter shades for wedding dresses like icy blue, pale dusky pink, cream or beige, and soft coral. A flowy, airy gown with bare shoulders is always considered a classic.
Since the vineyard usually has uneven terrain, and you may want to have some photographs, it is best to have a pair of sturdy, flat shoes that could be concealed under your gown. Accessories like ruby or diamond bracelets, with matching earrings and a locket, will go well with the wedding colours yet make you look radiant.
Bridesmaids Dresses for a Vineyard Wedding
Bridesmaids have the most fun at weddings! When planning the bridesmaid dresses, you should always consider their input. The dresses can often be adapted to fit body patterns and styles, so all your bridesmaids are comfortable throughout the day. Selecting solid colours like teal blue, burgundy, and mauve are always a massive hit since they accentuate all body styles.
Depending on your final vision, the dresses can be up to knee or ankle length. It is also acceptable to have an airy, light feel to the dresses to go with the overall winery feel. The wedding bouquets for each bridesmaid should have colourful, bright flowers with a mix of pale green. This will highlight the dresses and allow the wedding bouquets to be refashioned as table centrepieces later.
Reception Décor for a Vineyard Wedding
The reception décor need not be all about wines. Instead, you should opt for a specific style of décor for the wedding. If you’re unsure, a vintage-boho colourful yet modern theme or a chic-rustic theme with bright accents will also work wonders for the décor. Rustic décor is usually in-line with the natural accents of the winery, but a vintage-boho look would make the venue pop.
Using materials like macrame, unusual florals like pampas grass, and protea, mismatched chairs, runners, tables, and seating arrangements can also add to the charm of a modern yet colourful vineyard wedding décor. If you’re planning to have an outdoor wedding and reception, you may also have to organise a large-sized tent.
Wedding Photo Shoot Ideas for a Vineyard Wedding
Vineyards are excellent for wedding photo shoots. Some great shoot ideas are laying out some beautiful sheets, with the couple sitting and eating grapes and cheese while drinking wine and posing for photographs with the grapes. Other excellent winery-inspired ideas could be dressing up the bride and groom in vintage rock denim jackets and posing with empty wine bottles.
Bridal photoshoots with the wedding bouquet in front of a vintage car, the couple in romantic poses (staring into each other’s eyes) with the setting sun and winery behind them are a few other ideas. When planning a vineyard wedding photoshoot, it is essential to capture the love between the couple.
Wedding Cake Ideas for a Vineyard Wedding
A well-styled and made-to-order cake should reflect the vineyard wedding theme to perfection. An excellent wedding cake inspiration would be a beige and gold wedding cake with fondant grapes pasted to the side in small bunches. These grapes can be in colours like purple, green, and dark blue. A stylised fondant monogram with a script or the wedding logo design would also look stunning.
If you want to keep the cake in the same theme as the rest of the wedding, you can also have a multi-tiered cheesecake in various flavours. Everything from strawberry and blueberry cheesecake to New York-style can be part of the flavour profile.
